Frequently Asked Questions
ABOUT FLORRIE
Florrie is a curated independent homeware shop bringing together one-of-a-kind vintage finds, the work of independent British artisan makers, and a thoughtfully selected range of new products. Everything we sell is handpicked by us.
We are based in Solihull in the West Midlands and sell exclusively online at florriehome.com.
We are an online-only shop at present. If you have questions about a specific piece before purchasing, we are always happy to provide additional information — just email hello@florriehome.com.
VINTAGE EDIT
We photograph and describe every vintage piece as clearly as we can. Please look carefully at all images and read the full description before purchasing. If you have any questions at all, email us before you buy and we will tell you everything we know about the piece.
All vintage items at Florrie are one-of-a-kind pre-loved pieces. By their very nature they will show signs of age and prior use — this is not a defect, it is part of what makes them special. We photograph and describe every vintage piece as thoroughly as we can, and any significant damage beyond normal age-related wear will always be clearly noted in the product description and/or close-up photography.
We encourage you to review all images and read the full description carefully before purchasing a vintage piece. If you have any questions about the condition of a specific item, please email us at hello@florriehome.com before placing your order and we will be happy to help.
‘Vintage’ is generally accepted as 20 to 100 years old — so anything made between approximately 1925 and 2005 could legitimately be described as vintage. It is generally accepted that true vintage pieces are between 30 to 100 years old. ‘
‘Retro’ is often used for items from the 1970s, 80s and 90s that feel nostalgic but are not yet considered properly vintage by purists.
‘Antique’ items are 100 years old or more. Most of the items stocked by Florrie are therefore vintage, however, some pieces are genuine antiques and are listed as such.
The Makers Collection
Yes — every product in The Makers collection is handmade, hand-finished or produced from an original illustration by the maker. This means there will always be slight natural variations between pieces — in glaze, colour, weight and form. These variations are not imperfections; they are part of the process that makes these items special.

The Makers
We visit studios, attend specialist craft fairs and spend a great deal of time trawling the internet! Every maker in The Makers collection has been chosen because their work carries something we recognise — immense talent, creativity and a genuine love of what they do.
